This is the only species that has only 4 premaxillary teeth in the upper jaw, the other types of caimans have 5.

  • Diet: Birds, mammals, fish and some aquatic crustaceans
  • Habitat: Terrestrial and freshwater
  • Range in the Wild: South America, found in wetlands of Brazil to Venezuela
