As much as we are enjoying the warming spring weather…Fin and Matty have been soaking it all in. They love the outdoors and this week’s pictures are case in point.
Smiles.
Running.
Rest.
Repeat.
The two are getting along smashingly. Matty continues to be the more outgoing, energetic of the two. He is definitely all Labrador!
Fin remains inquisitive and shy. Choosing to very carefully explore his surroundings, while Matty bounds excitedly around him.
And of course, they enjoy discovering their surroundings with one another.
Their new play space is an outdoor kennel we’ve constructed in the old llama yard, near the South American Barn. A typical day starts with a morning feeding and then, if the weather is good, they head to the outdoor play space until mid-afternoon, followed with dinner. Of course, there are also visits from their keeper sprinkled in throughout the day where they get out of the kennel for even more exercise and enrichment time!
If you’re headed out to the Zoo to catch a glimpse of the pups, head towards the South American trail. Look for the pups’ kennel between the Habitats Building and the South American Barn. You’ll likely need get close to the barrier fence to get the best view as the kennel is down the hill a bit so it’s a little hard to see from the sidewalk.
And of course, what's a puppy photo shoot without a few outtakes? As you can see, it’s built-in exercise time for our team, too.
